The Dart Madness Tour is a yearly non-professional steel tip dart tournament series to expose players to a long format style tournament. The tour consist of 8 -12 events/qualifiers (tour stops) throughout the year to qualify players for the Dart Madness Championship event in November of each year. Each event will consist of a long format steel tip singles competition. Round Robin brackets of 4-8 players to start the competition followed by two or three single elimination knockout brackets (Championship and Consolation and possibly a Women’s) with a best of 5/7/9/11/13 format. All 501 open in/double out. Each event will also have a blind draw if space and time permits.
The Championship Finale weekend will be a 2-3 day event where 48-64 invited players will compete in an NCAA Tournament style seeded 48-64 player bracket – 4 regions (South, East, West and North). Each bracket will have players seeded based on points accumulated throughout the year and a player’s PPR with everyone playing off to get to the Final Four of Darts! If participation is there, then there will also be a Women’s Tour and Finale where 32 Women will be invited to play in the Women’s Finale. The weekend will also have other events like Men’s and Women’s doubles and Mixed Triples.
The Dart Madness Tour is hosted by Dart Players St. Louis which is a part of Dart Players North America. All matches and averages will be played on tablets using the Dart Connect scoring software.
In 2024 everything will be the same as it was in 2023! We will once again have multiple finale brackets. The top 48 (or 64 undecided yet) players in the Tour points list that played at least 3 tour qualifiers (this is new in 2023 and up from 2 in previous years) will compete in the main finale Open Championship bracket. All other players that competed in at least 2 Dart Madness qualifiers in 2023 will be qualified to play in 1 of 2 separate Consolation brackets which will be flighted. Each consolation bracket could possibly have up to 32 players or more players and will be flighted based on players PPR’s. All the details are in the Rules and Regulations page.
We are also pleased to announce that in 2024 there will once again be a separate Women’s round robin group play and Tour and Finale! Women will compete in their own round robins at each qualifier tour stop and they will have their own knockout bracket at the end of the day where they will earn points towards their points list. As in 2023, in 2024 women will also earn 3 finish points if they win a group during round robin play. The Top 32 women in the Tour points list will be invited to play in the Women’s finale. Complete rules and regulations can be found in the Rules and Regulations page.
Also in 2024 we will continue to be a bonus point system. All players that play in more than 2 qualifiers will receive bonus points. You will get 3 bonus points for your third qualifier you play in, 4 bonus points for your fourth qualifier and 5 bonus points for your fifth qualifier for a maximum of 12 possible bonus points. Bonus points will count toward your Tour points standings however they will not count toward your max limit which determines if you are eligible to play more qualifiers once you hit the maximum of 63 points in the Open and 35 points in the Women’s. Once again, all the details are in the Rules and Regulations page.
The Top 4 players in the tour points list will receive free entry into the Championship Finale. The Top 2 women in the Women’s tour points list will receive free entry into the Women’s Finale. All players that max out their points will get free entry into the Finales. So if more than 4 open and 2 women max out their points then they all get free entry into the Championship brackets. And again in 2024, if you play in at least 9 qualifiers you will get free entry into whichever Finale you qualify for.
