About Dart Madness

The Dart Madness Tour is a yearly non-professional steel tip dart tournament series to expose players to a long format style tournament. The tour consist of 8 -12 events/qualifiers (tour stops) throughout the year to qualify players for the Dart Madness Championship event which starting with the 26/27 tour will be in April of each year – so April 2027 is the next championship. Each event will consist of a long format steel tip singles competition. Round Robin brackets of 4-8 players to start the competition followed by single elimination knockout brackets. In 2026/27 we will have three tours going – open, advanced (players with PPR’s between 42 and 52.99) and challenger (players with PPR below 42), All games are 501 open in/double out.

The Championship Finale weekend for the 2026/2027 tour will be a 1 or 2-day event where all qualified players will be invited to compete in long format knockout bracket championships. Each bracket will have players seeded based on points accumulated throughout the year and a player’s PPR. The weekend will possibly also have other events like blind draws but that is to be determined.

The Dart Madness Tour is hosted by Dart Players St. Louis which is a part of Dart Players North America. All matches and averages will be played on tablets using the Dart Connect scoring software.

New in 2026/2027!

The first change for 2026 is that tour will now be a year long tour starting in April 2026 and ending in April 2027. The Dart Madness tour concept was developed around the NCAA march Madness so we are going to host our finals each year in April around the same time the NCAA March Madness championship is held. For 2027 the exact date has not yet been decided.

For the 2026/2027 tour we will essentially be running three separate tours – Open, Advanced and Challenger tours. The Challenger tour will be for players with a PPR under 42. The Advanced tour will be for players with a PPR of 42 to 52.99. To determine qualification for the Advanced and Challenger tours we will use past year’s Dart Madness Tour points lists PPR’s as a guide to determine which tour you will participate in. An initial list will be posted on this website and on the DPSTL Facebook page.

For the 2026/207 tour, the top 16 players in the Open, Advanced and Challenger Tour points list that played at least 3 tour qualifiers will compete in their tours Championship in April 2027. All other players that competed in at least 3 Dart Madness qualifiers in 2026/2027 will be qualified to play in other money added events – tbd – finale weekend. Finale pot money collected throughout the tour year will be added to these championships. All the details and more information is available on the Rules and Regulations page.

Also in 2026/2027 tour, there will continue to be a bonus point system. All players that play in more than 2 qualifiers will receive bonus points. You will get 3 bonus points for your third qualifier you play in, 4 bonus points for your fourth qualifier, 5 bonus points for your fifth qualifier, and new in 2026/2027 – 10 bounus points once you compete in your 6th qualifier for a maximum of 22 possible bonus points. Bonus points will count toward your Tour points standings however they will not count toward your max limit which determines if you are eligible to play more qualifiers once you hit the maximum of 63 points in all tours. Once again, all the details are in the Rules and Regulations page.

The Top 2 players in all three tour points list will receive free entry into their respective Championship Finale. All players that max out their points will get free entry into the Finales if more than 2 do so.
