Coming off Stop #5 where we had the most players ever, Stop #6 took us out on the road to Columbia, MO. Stop #6 was held in conjunction with a Ladies Only tournament hosted by the Columbia Eagles Club and Ryan Mooneyham and Jason Snodgrass. While the turnout for both events was less than expected it didn’t damper the fun and excitement for those that made the trip to Columbia. Thanks to some ladies doing double duty in the Ladies tournament and Dart Madness we were able to reach the 16 player minimum needed to have an official qualifier.
Curtis Strite joined Eric Robinson as the second 2 time winner on the tour. Curtis shot a blistering 73.6 in the finals including an incredible 12 dart leg over Ryan Mooneyham for a 6-2 win in the finals. He picked up 14 points (reduced from 20 because of only having 16 players) for a total of 38 for the tour and now joins Eric Robinson and Eric Gregory on the officially qualified list and no longer eligible for the qualifiers.
Chris Whitfield and Jason Snodgrass made their Dart Madness debuts and each scored a top 4 finish. We had 6 other first time players to help round out the field. In the blind draw the two qualifier finalists – Curtis and Ryan – drew each other and went on to victory over Dale Blankenship and Keith Gardner. Complete event results are available here and on Dart Connect.
Only two stops left – Sept. 21 and Oct. 13 – and the points list is tightening up. It doesn’t appear anyone with only 1 point is going to make the top 64 and some of the 2 point players will not either. So if you are hoping to make the finale then come on out to one or both of the final stops.
