Dart Madness Event #4

The 4th stop on the Dart Madness tour was held Saturday June 22 at Hotshots-Fenton. Many of the “regulars” were on hand as well as some new faces from Springfield, MO (Ryan Mooneyham and Jeremy Lantrip) and Memphis, TN (Brett Sears, Jerry Allred and Jessica Steele). Welcome to the new players and thank you for coming out. But it was the same old familiar faces in the finals as Eric Gregory defeated Brad Wethington 6-0 in the finals. It was Eric’s third time in the finals but first time winning after previously losing to Eric Robinson and Eric Blackledge. Brad made it to the finals for the first time after two straight top 4 finishes. Eric shot a 72.7 PPR and becomes the first player on the tour to reach the 35 point plateau (he has 40 points now) so Eric has booked a place in the finale as one of the top seeds and is no longer eligible to play in a qualifier.

We debuted a new event at this stop – second chance singles and we will continue it moving forward. The first one was won by Jacob Southard who defeated Zach Fuchs in the finals. This new event will be held after the first round of the qualifier and will be limited to 16 players. The first 16 players eliminated in round one (or possibly round 2) from the main event will be eligible for the second chance and then we will open it up to anyone else that might want to play to get to 16 players. The cost will be $5 a person – winner gets $60 and second place gets $20. We will play Best of 3 – Crk/501/choice – cork every leg. It will be run on a paper bracket but played on the tablets using the practice play mode. No points or stats will be kept for the tour.

Next stop is July 13 back at Arnold Bowl. Hope to see you all there!
